Fulgenzi, an Army veteran, now lives in Fenton and agreed to share his story.
 When he was a child, Fulgenzi lived with his father, brother, and
sister, along with his stepmother and her two sons and daughter. At age 6, his father gave him to a couple that his stepmother knew. He said this couple kidnapped them and took them from Michigan to Florida.
They lived with this couple for six years, which he called “the worst time” of his life.
“I never knew if I was going to die. I never knew when he was going to hit me, when he was going to throw me against the wall,” he said. The man was physically abusive and molested Fulgenzi when he was 10. At one point when he ran away, he told a police officer what happened. The officer took him back to that house and the man said Fulgenzi was a liar. ....
