LC- The Oregonian Facebook Share Campers will once again be able to stay the night at Detroit Lake, nearly seven months after devastating wildfires tore through the area. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department announced Thursday that the Detroit Lake campground will begin a phased reopening April 20, opening more of the campground gradually through the spring. The reopening comes as warm, sunny weather returns to Oregon – as well as the threat of wildfires. The same conditions that are driving people to lakes and rivers across the state have resulted in a red flag warning issued for much of the northern and central Willamette Valley, as unseasonably warm weather and high winds threaten an early start to fire season for northwest Oregon. ....
