Amsterdam to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday | News, Sports, Jobs

AMSTERDAM The city will celebrate Earth Day with an unveiling ceremony/press conference Saturday in the Veterans Park pool parking lot, Locust Avenue, for the city’s 25 new electric vehicle charging stations located throughout city parks. The charging stations were made possible with the support of New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, according to a news release.
The city will also be hosting its annual Earth Day clean-up, sponsored by Century 21 Purtell Realty and Montgomery County Legislator Robert Purtell. The clean-up will also begin in the Veterans Park pool parking lot. The citywide event will begin Saturday at 8:30am with volunteers picking up gloves and garbage bags. The breakfast, lunch and drinks will also be available for volunteers at that time. ....
