Local law enforcement agencies in Broward County have been waiting eight months for the school district to reimburse them for the work of school resource officers. After tense negotiations, the Broward School Board agreed to a contract that would substantially increase reimbursement rates.
Despite budget concerns, the Broward County School Board voted on Tuesday to move forward and pay school resource officers $103,000 per officer per year for the next three years.
