I think any president would rather be in their second term than having to be in a first term with a huge election looming. So i think you get a lot of relief when youre president in the second term that you dont have to run again. Also, theres a notion there are scandals that occur in the second term on nixon and watergate and irancontra and lewinsky problems, all ones people raise. What they miss, is what would bill clinton have been without a second term.
