It is now four Straight Days of violent weather in the south and the midwest. 65 tornadoes followed today by torrential rain and flooding. nir this is the Florida Panhandle after the biggest rainfall there in decades. Hundreds of people had to beni rescued from cars and houses. In pensacola, where the rain set a record, part of the scenic highway washed away. The flooding is blamed for at least one death in all since sunday. The storm death toll is, at least, 38, and thousands of homes have been damaged. Mark strassmann is in pensacolao reporter more than 20inches of rain fell in pensacola in 24 hours. Flash flooding washed away roads and bridges. This sinkhole was 20feet deep. The driver survived. Love that video. Good morning, everybody. We want to talk about Severe Weather and heavy rain because it has pounded parts of the u. S. Overnight. Rushing waters has flooded many roadways forcing drivers to leave their cars stranded in some areas. Pensacola, florida, hit hard. Record rainfall there, 16 inches. That is the most the city has seen in one day since the year 1880. In baltimore the heavy rain caused an entire street to collapse into a sink hole swallowing several cars. Many areas are trying to recover from the rough weather this morning. Jay gray has more. Reporter rushing flood waters have torn apart roadways, stranded drivers, and swallowed entire communities. The Florida Panhandle has seen some of the worst rain in pensacola close to 20 inches in 24 hours. Weve been through tropical storms and hurricanes.
