So when the gray skies turned into an actual rain shower, the more than 150 people gathered for the inaugural Daytona Unity Picnic simply moved under a large tent and kept the festivities going. This year’s St Ives September Festival is set to go ahead now that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has unveiled the government’s “roadmap” out of coronavirus restrictions. A decision on the 2021 Festival – scheduled to take place from September 11 to 25 - had been delayed due to the ongoing uncertainty over the easing of the regulations. But the organising committee have now swung into action and are in discussion with several of the performers who wish to come to St Ives this year after being booked – and subsequently cancelled – for 2020. They are also talking to St Ives Town Council over potential audience sizes at The Guildhall and a Festival spokesman said: “We are hoping to be in a position to announce some of our headline acts soon, and there are also a couple of exciting new projects in the pipeline this year.” ....
