Grants Offered for Boating Facilities : VOICE of the Valley

The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office is taking applications for grants to build or renovate facilities that serve large boats.
The federal Boating Infrastructure Grant program provides funding to develop and renovate public boating facilities. Grants also may be used to provide information and enhance boater education.
“Washington has nearly 230,000 registered boats, which use moorage docks, pump-out stations and utilities,” said Kaleen Cottingham, director of the Recreation and Conservation Office. “These grants help ensure that Washington’s boating facilities are available and in good shape so boaters can enjoy Washington’s fantastic waterways.”
The applications must be for projects targeting transient recreational vessels, 26 feet and larger, in Washington. Transient boats are those that travel to a single facility for up to 15 days. Bob Wild
EAGLE HARBOR A 15-day, public comment period was opened today by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources on a recommended design concept for improving the mooring facilities at Eagle Harbor State Harbor.
In August 2019, the DNR held an open house to showcase three development concepts being considered to replace infrastructure at the state harbor at Eagle Harbor. Major improvements at the site have been minimal since 1976.

State adopts rules for 'slow no-wake' zone at Prineville Reservoir

Similar action planned at Crescent Lake; new Lower Willamette rules set
SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) The Oregon State Marine Board on Wednesday conditionally approved a boating facility grant for Westport in Clatsop County, accepted a rulemaking request for Crescent Lake, adopted rules for a slow no-wake zone on Prineville Reservoir, and approved new rules for the Lower Willamette River in Multnomah and Clackamas counties.
Clatsop County has been working with agency staff for more than a decade on improvements to the Westport boating facility and applied for a construction materials grant. The county is requesting to purchase precast concrete boat ramp planks, boarding docks, short term tie-up docks, a floating kayak dock, gangway, and precast concrete restroom. Increased lead time is needed to fabricate materials due to COVID restrictions and materials must be on-hand prior to the in-water work window. ....
