Aniah Blanchard, a 19-year-old college student from Homewood, was reported missing on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Auburn. She last communicated with a friend the previous night. Police found her damaged black 2017 Honda CRV at a Montgomery apartment complex on Boardwalk Boulevard Friday evening.
Alabama lawmakers gave final approval today to a proposal to amend the state constitution to give judges more discretion for denying bail to people accused of violent crimes.
The legislation is named Aniah’s Law after Aniah Blanchard, the 19-year-old college student from Homewood who was abducted from a convenience store in Auburn and murdered in 2019. ....
