Sevierville police shot three people, killing one, after an armed robbery call led to a car chase Thursday night, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Shortly before 9 p.m., Sevierville Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of a business in the 600 block of the Parkway, according to a TBI news release. Police identified the business as TJ Maxx.
Upon arrival, officers spotted an SUV occupied by the reported robbery suspects, the release reads. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued. ....

TBI investigating officer involved shooting in Sevierville

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday evening in Sevierville.Â
According to preliminary information, Sevierville Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot near TJ Maxx, 617 Parkway.
Officers spotted an SUV occupied with the reported robbery suspects, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued, according to a TBI release.Â
The pursuit ended near Bluegrass Road after the SUV became disabled. As officers were attempting to order the three occupants out of the vehicle, the situation escalated, and for reasons still under investigation, officers fired shots, the TBI release said. ....
