Blue Margaritas Springfield review: The dishes were just right

Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday Entrée price range: $6.75-$9.50 for lunch and $8-$17 for dinner Children’s menu: Yes My order: I had the Salad Margaritas with grilled chicken ($8 lunch, $9 dinner; add $1 for the chicken), a blend of Romaine lettuce, grilled peppers, portobello mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes and avocados with vinaigrette. I don’t usually see grilled peppers or asparagus on a salad, so it was a refreshing addition. I also got an order of guacamole ($4). It came with chips and had just the right amount of heat and creaminess. Likes: There is takeout and delivery (no curbside pickup), patio dining in warmer weather and indoor dining as allowed by pandemic rules. Blue Margaritas is a large building, so diners can be allowed ample distancing. Lunch specials are available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

Washington waives liquor license fees to help businesses hurt by COVID-19 pandemic

WASHINGTON  Eighteen Washington liquor license holders are getting a financial break from the city when they most need it. They won t have to pay for their license when they renew it for the 2021-22 fiscal year. They can thank Lori Peifer, owner of Lori s Kitchen Store, for the city s gesture. Peifer has a BYOB (bring your own beer and wine) license from the city for cooking classes held at her store. The license cost her $350 for the 2020-21 fiscal year, which began May 1 and will continue through April 30. During normal times, Peifer holds about two cooking classes a week. Because she s abided by the state s COVID-19 restrictions and closures, she said, she s had only 23 classes this fiscal year.
