Resources to help with New Year s resolutions Crook County On The Move offers ideas, articles, tips and videos to stay healthy As we have now turned over the January page on this year s calendar, we always look forward to February, with red hearts and valentines in every store window to help keep away the winter doldrums and dreary days. But as we do this, how about revisiting those New Year s resolutions. Many of us talk about making them, and I know people who even take the time and effort to write long lists, including things like working to promote world peace and freedom, along with remembering to take those empty bottles and cans to the recycling center before they completely take over the garage. And we can t forget the resolution to lose enough weight to fit into that gorgeous outfit we bought at the after-Christmas sales. ....
Resiliency has won in 2020 Crook County Foundation members found ways to adapt their events to pandemic restrictions We all know that 2020 has been a challenging and difficult year. To have ourselves and our loved ones impacted by the COVID-19 virus has been a story from our worst nightmare. But there has been an enormous amount of resiliency and ingenuity come out of this year. For example, the Paddy Pint Run that the Crook County Foundation coordinates is the largest walk/run in Crook County. In 2019, we had over 500 participants and an estimated 150 people cheering the racers on and enjoying our finish line celebration event. With only three days of warning, we had to quickly pivot the 2020 event into something that was not going to be able to be held in-person. ....
