The city of Blountsville is about to receive some much needed updates to a portion of it's municipal water line. The section of the line set to be upgraded is old, even by Alabama standards. Originally constructed in 1941, the section, located on U.S. Highway 231, will now be modernized thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to the Blountsville Utilities Board which will be administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
