While Vietnam’s film industry experienced a miraculous 2020 in terms of sales despite the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, industry insiders believe it is still too early to place bets on its future.
According to Box Office Vietnam, the country’s film industry hit three remarkable milestones last year.
The first milestone was on July 17, when South Korean action-horror film ‘Peninsula’ premiered and, in just two weeks, posted revenues of VND70 billion (US$3 million). 
Comparatively, box offices across the country generated a combined turnover of VND57 billion ($2.47 million) between July 1 and 16. ....

3. VITM Hà Nội promotes digital transformation
The annual Việt Nam International Travel Mart (VITM) attracted more than 300 stalls of tourism enterprises, airlines and tourism service providers from 47 cities and provinces throughout the country and six foreign countries and territories between November 18 and 21.
To quickly recover from the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the theme for this year s event was digital transformation for tourism development.
It’s estimated that the mart attracted the participation of about 2,000 enterprises, and tens of thousands of people who bought air tickets and tours at the event. ....
