As Rome Mayor Jeffrey M. Lanigan approaches his first 100 days in office, he shared some behind-the-scenes details on the new garbage collection contract with Bliss Environmental Services and his plans for the city s American Rescue Plan Act funds on the latest episode of the Another Round 315 podcast, hosted by the Sentinel Media Company.
CWSI was notified Tuesday morning, the mayor said. The contract was terminated "due to failure to meet contractual obligations and a high number of complaints from residents," Lanigan said in a release. The 5-year contract was signed in March 2020 for $5,529,400 and was due to expire on March 31, 2025.
