ROME — A Memorial Day ceremony was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Park, 200 N. James St., followed by the rededication of the newly renovated Veterans Park.

CWSI was notified Tuesday morning, the mayor said. The contract was terminated "due to failure to meet contractual obligations and a high number of complaints from residents," Lanigan said in a release. The 5-year contract was signed in March 2020 for $5,529,400 and was due to expire on March 31, 2025.
