Church of Nigeria presents Enyindah as archbishop of Niger Delta

The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has formally presented Bishop of Ikwerre, Rivers State, The Most Rev. (Dr.) Blessing Enyindah, who was duly elected to succeed the Most Rev. Tunde Adeleye as the Archbishop of Niger Delta Province.
Enyindah, whose election held recently at Bethany Chapel, Faith Plaza, Bariga, Lagos was certificated for the office by Primate of the Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Asaba, Delta State, last Sunday, at a Consecration Service, where two other Bishops-elect, The Ven. Victor Ebipade Okporu and The Ven. Nneoyi Onen Egbe, were also consecrated as Bishops of the Dioceses of Western Izon, Delta State and Calabar, Cross Rivers State. ....

Anglican Senior Clergy course begins at Ibru Centre, Agbarha-Otor

The Senior Clergy Advanced Management Course, organised by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) for selected senior clergymen from different dioceses, has commenced at Ibru International Ecumenical Centre, Agbarha-Otor, Delta State.
The training, which began last Monday would run till January ending. It kicked off with a Holy Communion Service celebrated by the Rector of the Centre, Ven. Dr. Princewill Ireoba.

In his welcome speech, the Director of Studies and Bishop of Ilesa Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Sowale and his Assistant, Bishop of Otukpo, Rt. Rev. D.K. Bello, encouraged participants to be focused, disciplined and orderly to enable them grasp the teachings and knowledge that will be passed to them by the carefully chosen resource persons that will handle different topics. ....

COVID-19: Rivers State Govt mulls stringent measures January 2021

Port Harcourt, Dec. 30, 2020 The Government of Rivers, on Sunday, in Port Harcourt, has warned that it may re-impose lockdown in January to contain the new surge in Coronavirus cases in the State.
Gov. Nyesom Wike handed the warning at a thanksgiving service in celebration of the 90th birthday of Mrs. Priscilla Mark, at the St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Omagwa.
The governor expressed his worry over the refusal of most churches and markets to enforce the wearing of face masks as required as a COVID-19 protocol in Rivers.
He said that although the State government had initially relaxed the restriction on the number of persons who worshipped in churches, new measures would be announced to curb the spread of second wave of COVID-19 in Rivers. ....
