Advocate of the High Court Dr James Grant believes Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe is facing a suspension.
This after the Judicial Conduct Tribunal unanimously found Hlophe guilty of gross misconduct.
Hlope was accused of trying to influence Justices Chris Jafta and Bless Nkabinde in a corruption case relating to former president Jacob Zuma and arms company Thint involving the multi-billion-rand arms deal.
The tribunal also found that Hlophe s conduct seriously threatened and interfered with the independence, impartiality, dignity and effectiveness of the Constitutional Court, effectively threatening public confidence in the judicial system. ....

A Judicial Conduct Tribunal has found Western Cape Judge President John Hlope guilty of gross misconduct following his attempts to sway two Constitutional Court Justices in siding with then president Jacob Zuma in 2008.
Hlope was accused of trying to influence Justices Chris Jafta and Bless Nkabinde in a corruption case relating to Zuma and arms company Thint involving the multi-billion rand arms deal.
