Photo by Lauren Snyder | The State News ASMSU held several committee meetings on Thursday evening discussing many bills to be debated and voted on at the next General Assembly meeting. There are three committees, Finance, Academic and Policy, all of which discussed their own agendas. For the Finance Committee, New Business included Bill 57-107 Allocate Funds to Survivors General Fund. The Academic Committee looked at numerous bills such as Bill 57-106 STI Transmission in RVSM Policy and Bill 57-102 Advocate for a Tuition Freeze until 24-25. ....
CSUS student follows his passion for the environment March 2, 2021 Studying environmental studies and sustainability sets students up for green careers, including having an impact in areas of policy and climate change. MSU student Blake Lajiness is majored in environmental studies and sustainability. Like many students, Blake Lajiness explored different programs and areas at Michigan State University, starting in the James Madison College. After a semester, Lajiness changed his major to environmental studies and sustainability to more closely follow his dream of one day working for the Environmental Protection Agency. His inspiration was pursuing an academic path that would help him make a difference in regards to climate change and the resulting challenges facing the world. ....

Bill 57-57 to allocate $5,000 to MSU Safe Place was introduced by Lyman Briggs College Representative Ishaan Modi and seconded by James Madison College Representative Jordan Kovach. MSU Safe Place is for MSU students, staff, faculty, retirees or their partners, and children who are experiencing emotionally, physically or sexually abusive relationships. Photo by Lauren Snyder | The State News Setting up one of the biggest General Assembly (GA) meetings of the fall semester, the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) approved 14 bills in committee meetings Thursday, Dec. 3. The 14 bills went through the Academic, Policy and Finance committees. The bills will be deliberated upon this Thursday, Dec. 10, at the last GA meeting before winter break. Academic Committee Four of the 14 bills passed through the Academic Committee, and pertain to expanded culinary training, mental health days and a previously passed Open Educational Resources (OER) bill.� ....
