Shelter Cove Workday at Black Sands Beach Invasive plant removal and work in the native plant gardens at Black Sands Beach is the focus of the next BLM/Friends of the Lost Coast work party in Shelter Cove. On Sunday, October 29, volunteers are invited to lend a hand in planting natives and removing invasives from this popular destination. The event runs 10a.m. to 1p.m. and a limited number of stipends are available for ages 12-17. Meet 10a.m. at the west end of the Black Sands Beach parking area, 856 Beach Road in Shelter Cove.
