He chairs the education committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission and serves as local curator of its new history center, Greenwood Rising, which will be dedicated on June 2 as part of the centennial commemoration. He recently published his 10th book, Black Wall Street 100: An American City Grapples With Its Historical Racial Trauma. In addition, the Tulsa author, attorney and independent consultant was named Thursday to the 2021 class of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. I am humbled and honored to join the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
