The Mounting Yard returns this week after a three-month hiatus and I couldn’t pick a better program with which to kick off 2020: the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day at Flemington.
The track should be between a Good 4 and Soft 5 with the weather predicted, and Flemington generally plays fairly, so tempo should dictate whether they can run or not.

The World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2020, determined by the very official-sounding International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, and sponsored by LONGINES, today released its controversial best lists; best horses of 2020, best races of 2020.
Despite the helpful data used to formulate peak win ratings figures/lists, they are still enormously subjective, particularly “best horse.”
