till s cousin will be there. it s a moment that i think black americans are excited for. something they have been looking forward to for a long time. this moment where this child was mutilated, beat up and murdered, revitalized and created the civil rights movement we ended up knowing. it told and showed thanks to his mother s courageous telling that she wanted everyone to see what happened to her son. it went on the cover of jet magazine and around the country where people saw what was happening in the jim crow south for the first time. folks in the north had no idea how terrible things were for black americans in the south. it s a big moment, the fact it s happening where you have the first black woman who is vice
important. and i think certainly the negotiators but we have to speak the message. what is that? the message is that this is a bill that gets rid of bad police misconduct and enhances the relationship between police and community. we can get that moving. if we can get people to stop looking our republican friends to stop looking over their shoulder at donald trump and donald trump s ascending to the presidency and work with all of us and president biden. reverend, we can get the george floyd justice in policing act. and good police because it makes their work easier and does not make them look like some of the bad policemen that has given policing a very different kind of reputation in many of our communities. let me ask you this, the last question briefly. june 19th, known to many black
americans, essentially, in his words, a nation of cowards when it comes to discussing race? i certainly agree with that. you can look at this. if we could have the open discussions, maybe we could in some way try to move forward. i think that those discussions need to be held a lot at the the local level, you know, the level where i was, and also from the top. but somehow, i don t know what it is going to take for this country, but we really have to figure this out if we expect this great country, the united states of america, to move forward in the future in the way we need to move forward. we are mixed here. it is not all one race in this country, and never will be. you know. so, we need to figure out how to live together. are you as concerned as am
the kind of harmony that we need as a country to move forward and the fact that he has lived long enough to continue to see the changes in the country today as another change as how it relates to how we look at the issue of race. i think that the administration want to protect all of americans and make sure that no one in this administration would discriminate against anyone. the issue of the black farmers has been raised and now it is being dealt with. secretary vilsack is dealing with that very issue, and the issue of making sure that no one is stepped upon to find that white farmer who said, if it wasn t for the work that she did, i would have lost the farm, and he is a veteran, and what better voice to have. i think that this is a moment for the country that we all learn what we should do, and we should not allow the few, the few that are not carrying the intentions of goodwill to dictate the dialogue in this country. you are running against marco
