BUFFALO, N.Y. National Night Out events happened all over Buffalo Tuesday night and the rest of the country after being canceled last year due to COVID.
The annual event aims to bring together communities through games and activities and so you can get to know your neighbors.
Dr. Benjamin Cashaw, the President of the Fruitbelt Coalition, said this was created to encourage neighbors to come out Night out was developed to encourage neighbors to come out, to discover who your neighbor is, to develop safety and sanctuary in your neighborhood this is how crime is kept down, that s how they set up crime watch, neighbors start to watch out for one another, Cashaw said.

BUFFALO, N.Y. All over Western New York and across the country, people have been celebrating and reflecting on the life and message of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
It s a message that has taken on new meaning after the national reckoning on race this past summer.
And many of those events involved people working to help their neighborhood, like a community clean up on Michigan Avenue in Buffalo Monday morning. Organizers say service such as this keeps Dr. King s mission alive.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â Bishop William Henderson, best known in Buffalo s Black community for being the longtime pastor of the historic Michigan Street Baptist Church, has passed away.
His family shared the news Tuesday, calling him a man dedicated to God who began his ministry career when he was just 15. He was more than just a minister, he was someone that knew people and loved everybody and anybody. And that was a big part of his personal life was care and compassion, said his youngest daughter, Rachel Henderson.
