According to the prosecution NIA, Salla allegedly planted the note in the hope that if he defames the airlines, Jet Airways would be forced to close its Delhi operations, and Salla’s “girlfriend” – who worked in the airline's Delhi office – would return to Mumbai, where Salla lived.
The high court held that the accused could not have been convicted for the offence of hijacking “on the premise of evidence which is tainted with doubt”.
