Search for 18-year-old who fell off jet ski in Flagler County to continue Thursday morning

The body of a teenager who fell off a jet ski into the intracoastal Wednesday has been recovered by divers. Investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say 18-year-old Ritchy Volmar was on a jet ski with another teenager when he fell off into the river. Body of Ritchy Volmar, 18, Recovered by Divers in Intracoastal Near Bings Landing After Nearly 24-Hour Search

Two Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation divers found and recovered the body of 18-year-old Ritchy Volmar just after noon today (Feb. 25) in the waters of the Intracoastal not far from Bings Landing in the Hammock. His family was informed soon afterward.
Authorities had been searching for Volmar since shortly after his friend called 911 Wednesday afternoon, before 3 p.m., to report that they’d been jet skiing together until Volmar fell off and was lost to sight. His friend attempted to find him, but unsuccessfully. The report triggered a nearly 24-hour search that involved the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, fire rescue teams, FWC and the county’s emergency helicopter. ....

County Scraps Rent-Free Space for Senior Meals in Flagler Beach to Pay $3,000 a Month, With $1,200 Yearly Increases

Flagler County’s meals for seniors program has been feeding the elderly in need since 1978, first at Flagler Beach City Hall and Bunnell City Hall. In 1983 it moved to Flagler Beach’s Wickline Senior Center on South Daytona Avenue, where it’s been since, rent-free. The Wickline Center was once owned by the county.
The building was ceded to Flagler Beach many years ago, on the condition that the county would continue using it for its daily senior program.
This evening, the Flagler County Commission voted 4-1 to end that long, rent-free relationship and approve instead a plan that would move the program to Church on the Rock in Bunnell and pay the church $3,000 a month in rent the first year, rising by $100 a month per year over the potential 15-year life of the lease, so that by year two, rent would be $3,100 a month, and reach $4,500 a month by year 15. ....
