Putting politics into action locally isn't easy. Tara Poulton just makes it look that way.

With a cool-under-pressure personality mixed with a get-stuff-done work ethic, Tara Poulton is the right fit as the new district director for Lakewood Ranch’s only U.S. Congressman.

Manatee principal's zany launch to fundraisers

Vin Mannix Whenever it came to firing up students for a school fundraiser over the years,  Anthony Losada has never been shy about putting himself out there and taking one for the team with his zany ideas.  “Anything I can do to motivate the kids,” he said.  Like kissing a pig.  Or sitting in a dunk tank.  “With ice dumped into it,” Losada said, recalling that chilling stunt from his days as an assistant principal at Braden River Middle.  So when it came time to raise $500 for the Mayors Feed the Hungry program, the Johnson K-8 School of International Studies principal reached into his bag of tricks.
