A holiday luncheon gathering of the Brainerd Rotary Club at the Moose Lodge is being investigated to find out why 31 of the 40 people became ill. The Minn. Dept. of Health is investigating what appears to be an E. coli outbreak. The Moose Club, which was serving hamburgers and cole slaw, passed a health inspection in the fall.
30 years ago (1991)
Nate Berg, a 13-year-old from Wisconsin, has gone fishing for 1,000 straight days. He s been interviewed by NBC-TV, various magazines, and has a letter from Pres. Bush. But his biggest thrill was fishing with pro fisherman Babe Winkelman in Brainerd. On that trip he caught his biggest largemouth, 5-8, and will appear on Babe s TV show.
