Gillett seniors to continue running at D2 Minnesota colleges GILLETT – Gillett’s dynamic duo will continue their running exploits at college. Sylvia Hansen and Derek Hanson have signed letters of intent to compete in both cross country and track for two Minnesota schools win the NCAA Division 2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Sylvia said she quickly decided to attend Winona State University in Minnesota just after arriving because of its beautiful campus, great environment and the great welcome and kindness show by the coach and teammates. “Ultimately, what prompted me to continue running was my love for the sport,” she said. “I knew since my freshman year that running in college was a dream of mine and to be able to say I have made it to that dream of mine is unbelievable. Over the past seven years I’ve been dedicating myself to this and I’ve loved every moment of it.” ....
