And good tenants? Tyler Madarus has a story for you.
When Madarus first offered Andrew Barlow the spare bedroom in his Albany apartment, he was worried about his old high-school friend. Barlow had just gone through a breakup, Madarus says, and was lonely and discouraged.
Barlow agrees: “I was really depressed. He helped me out.”
“I couldn’t let someone live on the streets who I thought was a decent person and was in a bad situation,” says Madarus, who works at the Bigfoot Grille in Lebanon. “I told him he could have a room for a while, until he got back on his feet.
