Johnson County is currently seeing an uptick in COVID cases with 13 reported last week and eight the week before, according to a release from the Johnson County COVID Task Force.

In the release, the district said safety and health of staff, students and community remains a top priority for the district as we get ready to start the year. The federal requirements of masks on federal transportation (buses) are being reviewed at the state level and when more information or direction is given, the staff, students, parents, and community will be informed.
The district will continue to recommend only at this time that masks and social distancing protocol take place when feasible.
JCSD Superintendent Charles Auzqui said, “It is the goal of the district to educate all kids in person and in the least restrictive learning environment.”
Phase II is open to all residents 18 and older for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Johnson County Healthcare Center now has the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires only one dose.
Johnson County Public Health, Corner Stone Pharmacy, Buffalo Prescription Shop, and Big Horn Pediatrics & Family Medicine have the Moderna vaccine, which takes 2 doses, separated by 28 days.
