Hollinwood church hoping to make even more of an Impact in the community Date published: 30 July 2021 The Impact Church in Hollinwood Churchgoers at the Impact Church in Hollinwood have launched an appeal in a bid to finally raise enough money to buy a van which will allow them to continue their work with the homeless and most impoverished in the local community. Pastor and Project Leader Lee Marsland said: Everyone at the Impact Community Church, and through our outreach arm of the church (Encounter Ministries), works with homeless charities and people who are really struggling. We collect and and deliver food parcels, clothing, and household goods / furniture; and at Christmas we have been doing a Big Give for a number of years now to enable people who are struggling to even buy food. ....
by Contributor on Friday Jul 02 2021 Musician Carolyn Cameron A fter a drought of live events, classical music enthusiasts are set to enjoy a free Bachyard concert in Rossland hosted by accomplished local musician Carolyn Cameron, with some tasty treats provided by Hooper’s Bakery. The two, one-hour long sessions for Bach Aficionados will take place at 2pm and 4pm on Sunday, 11 July in Upper Rossland and donations to St Andrew’s United Church Rehab Project are welcomed, but not compulsory. Carolyn, who isn’t entirely new to the outdoor fundraising concert scene, will transform her patio and elevated yard into a ‘staged’ performance for her celebration of Bach. The line up will feature Bach’s Italian Concertina, played on the Harpsichord, for which it was originally written and his Solo Violin No. 1 Sonata in G Minor.
