lost a lot of music today, and heaven must be excited because it has a new lead singer for the gospel choir. that is true. if anybody has a voice that can lift with the angels, we know it was aretha. tell us, how was she at the end? did you get a sense of peace for her? well, she was at peace, you know. she battled this cancer since about 2005, really almost 15 years, and she has struggled with it. i think in the poetic sense, while she did a last farewell to detroit last summer, a big detroit event at a church where they named a boulevard after her father in chicago, and then with elton john, her last event, her battling with cancer to help people with aids. she did an aids concert with elton john. that says an awful lot about aretha, fighting for someone other than herself. you guys spent a lifetime together fighting some of the toughest fights our society has seen.
one reason is the tech companies have been immune to the trade tensions. the big detroit automakers say tariffs are cutting into profits. particularly steel and aluminum are raising costs for american au automak automakers. the carmakers are not the only ones hurt by the u.s. trade policy. whirlpool and harley-davidson as well as coca-cola. it will raise prices for rising aluminum tariffs. would you take a chauffeur ride on the next trip to walmart? how about a ride in a car without a driver? walmart is testing a program with waymo. it is shuttling customers to pick up grocery orders placed on line. it is only in arizona right now. walmart says the purpose is to
arresting them. sessions tried to make the case the president was just joking but conceded the comments do have an impact. cnn has also learned chuck rosenburg, the acting head of the drug enforce in the agency sent all of his employees an ee-mail suggesting they ignore the president s comments. sanders dismissing the criticism insisting the president was kidding. she accuses the media of trying to make something out of nothing. u.s. auto sales are falling again as the industry continues to cool down. auto sales are an important driver for the broader economy. they fell for the seventh month in a row. the industry is now on track for its first annual decline since 2009. years of growth and the big detroit car companies are feeling the brunt. gm sales fell 15% in july. these companies are selling less
