First up is Family Piggy Bank, a game show where family members go through three rounds of trivia in an attempt to “fill the family piggy bank.” The format uses CGI technology to create a shiny floor studio, virtual game play movements and a virtual audience. The project is produced by Armoza Formats and Gamechanger’s Nimrod Harel and Yaron Yashinsky. The producer/distributor is also prepping two formats co-developed with Something Special Korea the first of which is Checklist for Love, a dating reality arc competition that finds 11 men and 10 women moving in together looking for their one true love. ....
The original Pooch Perfect is hosted by Rebel Wilson London-based distributor Beyond Rights has unveiled a slate of more than 200 hours of unscripted and kids’ content for spring 2021, including Australian dog-grooming format Pooch Perfect. Originally produced by Beyond for Seven Network in Australia, 8×60’ series Pooch Perfect was adapted for BBC1 in the UK earlier this year. Beyond has also partnered with several third-party prodcos for the first time to bring multiple new titles to its slate, following its merger with TCB Media Rights last year. These include Saved & Remade (15×60’), which was produced for the UK’s BBC2 by Glasgow-based Red Sky Productions. In the format, craft experts use their skills to repurpose neglected items. ....
| 25 January 2021 UK-based producer/distributor Beyond Rights has made a strong start to 2021, licensing 250 hours of content in major volume deals with AMC Networks in Spain and SIC in Portugal. The former deal sees the Spanish arm of the global network AMC Networks acquire 98 hours for its Odisea channel, with the package featuring a range of engineering titles (24 hours), including World’s Most Extreme (6 x 60’- pictured), an Arrow Media production exploring engineering and transportation in extreme locations. The deal also includes Greenstone TV’s Puppy School (10 x 30’) and six seasons (69 hours) of Bondi Rescue. Across the border, Portugal’s SIC has licensed 152 hours of unscripted content, including the Australian version of Beyond’s competitive dog grooming show Pooch Perfect (8 x 60’), Gobstopper TV’s Filthy House SOS (6 x 60’) and multiple seasons of Big Coat Productions’s original Love It Or List It (90 hours) as well as 34 ....
