We ll shout out if you hear the press conference so we re able to carry that live with the police chief. those of you just joining us, a father after 5:00 a.m. a quarter after 5:00 am o the east coast here. the situation is this there s been a mass shooting at a movie theater in suburban denver in a town called aurora, colorado. here as you can imagine, like in theaters across the country, folks have gathered for the big batman movie, the dark knight rises. an adult male acting alone walked into the century 16 movie theater. between gunfire and an explosive device that s since been recovered. kind of went on a rampage, it sounds, a shooting spree which you could call this at this point. what it appears to be. 20 people have been injured. hospitals have confirmed the number as well as the police department there. ten people are confirmed dead at this point. that death toll could rise. we re keeping an eye on that and hope to update that when the aurora police chief speaks to the ....

reporter: no. just to take you through the timeline. you know, this happened just after 12:30, the movie here, batman, had just gotten underway. 12:30 central time. on local radio, talked about the there was a scene in the movie where there was a lot of shooting, a lot of explosions. and apparently that is when all of this started to happen. a gunman appeared at the front of one of the theaters. he threw some canister that started releasing gas. witnesses report hearing a hissing sound. then he opened fire. and at least 50 people were hit, 14 of them have now confirmed were killed. the gunman found outside one of the theaters by police officers who were apparently able to respond quickly. ....
