Guwahati: Assam s first lady IAS officer, Parul Devi Das succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday. She was undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital, Guwahati.
Das was Assam s Additional Chief Secretary and she was the daughter of former Assam Minister Ramnath Das.
On April 21, legendary Bihu singer Bhitali Das passed away due to COVID-19.
As Kamrup (M) tops the chart with 6,026 active cases while Kamrup (R) shares the second spot with 1,032 cases, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 14 deaths have been recorded as of April 25 and Kamrup Metropolitan with Guwahati as its leading city registered 815 number of COVID cases. The positivity rate stands at 3.24%.

Taking to her social media handle the singer wrote, I have been tested COVID-19 positive. Don t really have definite symptoms. Just a lil cold, Also as I had performed among a huge crowd, so tested just to be sure, moreover didn t at all wanted to infect anybody. I am fine as of now. Felling a lil weak though, with a mild headache since morning. All those who have met me in the last 6-7 days please get yourself tested. So friends please take all precautionary measures & stay protected. Anyone anytime can be infected, just don t panic, get yourself tested & do the needful. Need your blessings to recover.

Popular Assamese singer Bhitali Das passed away here on Wednesday.

GUWAHATI: Popular Assamese singer Bhitali Das passed away here on Wednesday. She was 41 years old. She was recently infected with the Coronavirus and was admitted to the Kalapahar COVID Hospital on April 16.
However, before she breathed her last, she was tested COVID-19 negative.
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that she was suffering from diabetes. Her last performance was at the Judges Field during a Bihu programme organized by the All Guwahati Students Union on April 14.
The singer s death has been condoled by the artiste fraternity of the State along with different politicians and organizations.
