Biz Beat: Shoreline Repair Services, Hacker Craft at Tome s Landing, tax help for businesses proposed

After working for others for more than a decade, Brian Wingert struck out on his own and has opened Shoreline Repair Services. Wingert, based in Rising Sun, will come to your location and fix your appliances, computers, laptops or gaming systems. “I had been employed with Aaron’s Rent to Own,” Wingert said Tuesday. His job was to repair washers and dryers, refrigerators and other rental items to make them ready to be rented again. However recently he decided to do it for himself and officially opened Shoreline Repair Services. “I work with all brands,” Wingert said, noting he was going to repair a Samsung refrigerator with a broken ice maker.

Biz Beat: Stacker s Gourmet Deli, COVID killing tech for your business, The Honeycomb Center welcomes you

Main Street shoppers in North East are finding Stacker’s Gourmet Deli has become a favorite spot to grab a sandwich and go. “It’s been great, even with COVID,” said Karen Dixon who, with her husband Matt, opened Stacker’s at 33 South Main St. in November. “We only do take out.” While the term “deli” invokes thoughts of Reubens, and Italian subs, Dixon said Stacker’s is becoming better known for something else on its extensive menu. “Our most popular item is our crab cake egg rolls,” she said, adding there’s also a buffalo chicken and cheesesteak egg roll option. There’s a drool-worthy selection of subs, grinders, hot and cold sandwiches, platters and gourmet salads. You can also purchase lunch meat by the pound for your sandwich-making at home.
