A 24-year old San Antonio woman charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of a bicyclist in April now faces a wrongful death lawsuit.
The children of Beatrice “Bea” Gonzalez, 44, are seeking damages of at least $20 million from the driver accused of causing her death, Samantha Leigh Castillo, and the “Unknown Bar X” that served alcohol to Castillo before the accident, according to the lawsuit. ....

San Antonio woman accused of election fraud gave voter gift bag, arrest warrants allege

A San Antonio campaign employee accused of interfering as an elderly woman filled out her absentee ballot had rows of gift bags that matched the one she gave the woman, according to arrest warrants.
Raquel Rodriguez was arrested on Jan. 13 and charged with four felonies, including election fraud and illegal voting, by the state attorney general s office. She was released from the Kendall County Jail, northwest of San Antonio, the following day on bonds totaling $60,000.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton s office began investigating Rodriguez after Project Veritas, a conservative activist group, released a heavily edited video purporting to show her helping an elderly woman fill out her ballot and discussing unlawful voter influence tactics. ....

An attorney for the former San Antonio campaign worker arrested Wednesday raised questions about the nature of the arrest.
Former Bexar County District Attorney Nicholas Nico LaHood is representing Raquel Rodriguez, who was charged with election tampering by the state attorney general s office.
Rodriguez was charged with four counts, all felonies. She was released Thursday afternoon from the Kendall County Jail, northwest of San Antonio, on bonds totaling $60,000.
The probable cause affidavit and related documents are under a court seal filed by the attorney general s office, according to Kendall County District Clerk Susan Jackson. The 30-day seal will expire on Feb. 12 unless extended by court order. ....
