A lockdown fundraising drive by parents and the generosity of the local community has led to a huge financial boost for a small north coast primary school and nursery.
Farr Primary School Parent Council along with parents of children in the nursery class have raised an overall total of Â£13,350 for the school and nursery.

Pupils and younger children were greeted with the good news when they returned to the school, which is part of the North Coast Campus, on Monday following the easing of lockdown restrictions. ....

As with so many other events, the coronavirus pandemic put paid to the much loved childrenâs Christmas party at Bettyhill.
But there was some compensation and much excitement for the villageâs younger generation when Santa and his helpers dropped by the north coast last weekend.

Santa and a couple of his elves toured the Bettyhill area at the weekend, dispensing gifts at every stop between Invernaver and Kirtomy.
It was an exciting visit for younger villagers, helping to compensate for the absence of their annual Christmas party because of the coronavirus restrictions. The visit was organised by Bettyhill Christmas Party Committee help from the Bettyhill Renewable Community Fund. ....
