It was clear by Tuesday afternoon that Texas was in a full-blown crisis - and Gov. Greg Abbott had largely been out of sight.
More than 4 million households did not have power amid dangerously low temperatures, and an increasing number did not have heat or running water. Some families were burning furniture to stay warm, grocery stores were emptying, and people were dying. In the freezing darkness, many desperate Texans felt they were left to fend for themselves. ....

i m sure. i don t think he would be taking the step if he didn t realize there s a lane for him. no way they re going into this without polling. they definitely have polling. i also know this is actually a pretty good week if he s thinking about jumping in. there was very talented campaign staff on beto o rourke s staff, castro s staff, harris staff that have all been let go in the last ten days. they all had really good people. wheres a couple weeks ago there would have been not that many great campaign people to choose, there actually are now to build an organization. we talk about him being able to self-fund his campaign. to get on the debate stage, you have to have not just polling but individual donors. if michael bloomberg is not on the debate stage, does that hurt him as well? can he run a legitimate campaign without being a part of a significant number of debates? i think that s probably the biggest achilles heel. he can buy a tv buy. ....
