VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) â Valdosta City Schools recently announced a partnership with Purposity, an app connecting users with one-to-one needs in their community.
The partnership aims to fulfill the essential needs of students within the school district.
If you knew a kid down the street had a simple need, say she needed sneakers for school, chances are youâd help, right? But, itâs hard to know the needs of real people in your community because thereâs never been a way to connect people who could really use help with people who want to offer it.

VALDOSTA â Beverly Broome was named the 2020 CATS award winner during the Valdosta Board of Education meeting this week.
The Continuous Acts of Kindness through Teamwork and Service recognition program honors deserving administrative assistants, bus drivers, custodians, school nutrition workers, maintenance personnel, nurses, paraprofessionals, social workers and technology specialists.
The program is in its fourth year and, due to COVID-19, the 2020 awards were delayed but awardees were finally given their time in the spotlight.
Broome, Valdosta Middle School registrar, was nominated with a glowing recommendation from her former principal Beth DeLoach.
