Here s mine: This photograph is of me (at age 1) with my great-grandfather, Henry Austin Carringer (age 91 at the time) in October 1944 at my first birthday party.  This is probably at my grandparents home at 2130 Fern Street in San Diego.  This is the only time I have seen Austin Carringer with a smile on his face.  In all of the photographs I have of him, he does not smile.  I love this photograph, and I m so glad that I could brighten his life a bit with my baby antics.  My great-grandmother, Della (Smith) Carringer died in January 1944, so I don t have a color photo or home movie of her with me.
