Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading SECURITY STAFF at the Royal Berkshire Hospital are entering a second wave of strikes over what they believe is unfair pay. 23 security guards at the hospital will be striking from 7am on Monday, January 4, and end at 7pm on Friday, February 12. The strikes are aiming to raise the lowly level of pay that their employers, Kingdom Services Group, have paid through the Coronavirus crisis, as well as an improvement of working conditions. Unite regional officer Jesika Parmar said: “Our members will continue their ‘David and Goliath’ struggle in the new year with strike action over 20 days in January and February.
