Details are still coming in, but its understood the aircraft was carrying around 100 passengers and crew. It went down near the city of almaty, en route to nur sultan. In the past few minutes, the official death count has risen to 9. This statement from the Kazakh Aviation Authority, published in the past hour, says at 07 22 flight no. 22100, of bek airline, in the direction almaty nur sultan lost altitude during take off and broke through a concrete fence. There was a collision with a two storey building. Rescue operations and the evacuation of passengers and crew began immediately. The plane was a fokker 100 video published on social media appears to show much of its fuselage intact as search and rescue operations continue. The bek air flight had just taken off from the countrys biggest city, almaty, and was travelling to the capital, nur sultan, when it crashed into a building. 60 others were injured in the crash. 98 people were onboard the flight, including five crew. 0ur moscow correspondent Sarah Rainsford gave us this update. The latest that we are getting here are the extraordinary account of the people who have survived this crash. A couple of people have been telling their story to local media and even describing how they managed to walk away from the wreckage of this plane.
