Fire crews with the Stanislaus National Forest Mi-Wok/Summit Ranger District began prescribed burning along Italian Bar Road at 9 a.m. Friday and had burned about 110 acres by 3:45 p.m.

Lightning strikes from afternoon thunderstorm activity sparked two fires near Pinecrest Reservoir just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, and Stanislaus National Forest firefighters were sizing up the fires.
