Manitoba’s top doctor is being cautiously optimistic regarding declining numbers in both the province and its capital.
Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief provincial public health officer, reported 133 new cases in Manitoba on Monday, including just 47 in Winnipeg the lowest single-day number in months. Winnipeg’s test positivity rate also plummeted to 8.8%, still high, but down nearly 2% from last week. ....

Over One-Thousand Recoveries From COVID-19 Reported In Manitoba

Public health officials advise three additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today including:
• a male in his 60s from Northern health region;
• a male in his 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to the outbreak at McCreary/Alonsa Health Centre; and
• a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to an outbreak at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home.
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 10 per cent provincially and 8.8 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 133 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 26,450. ....

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 12.6 per cent provincially and 11.9 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on December 30, 2020, 130 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, two cases were removed due to data correction and brings the net new cases to 128 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 24,513.
