P6.1-M marijuana plants burned in Benguet

KIBUNGAN, Benguet – More than P6-million worth of marijuana plants and dried stalks were destroyed during a single-day operation by the Benguet police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here.
 Benguet Provincial Police director Police Col. Reynaldo Pasiwen said the operatives discovered a marijuana plantation in a communal land in Sitio Kilong, Poblacion, this town, through information from a concerned citizen.
The operating teams uprooted and burned about 600 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P120,000 in a 120-square meter lot.
Moreover, about 50 kilos of marijuana stalks worth around P6 million were found in the adjacent area. They were also burned on site. ....
