Acclaimed Bengali actress Sreela Majumdar, who was known for her roles in both parallel and mainstream cinema, passed away at the age 65 after losing her battle against cancer, here on Saturday afternoon.
Majumdar made her cinematic debut in 1980, through Mrinal Sen s drama film Parasuram . The movie was critically acclaimed, winning a Silver Prize at the 11th Moscow International Film Festival.
