time that i voted and i think i must have just turned 18 at the time. when i started to do the ballot fill out the ballot and to vote, i remember thinking i don t know any of these people. i don t know any of these measures. and i don t think that that was something that was unusual for someone who came from an immigrant family who i think my parents never voted until after i voted, actually. and so it s one of these things that we say, when we think about why it is so important to vote, it s because we have the opportunity to vote for people who represent us in government, whether it s local government or all the way to the highest level in our federal government. because these individuals pass laws and make decisions on how we govern how we live our lives, who we can marry, the air we breathe. that is why today i m so proud to be here, to kick off not only women s equality day but also the w challenge. so, what is the w challenge? i want everybody to go when you can today
connected. hate toward one group left unanswered, more hate towards more groups, more often. the antidote to hate is love. the answer is solidarity. stand up for everyone humanity. that s what laws they particulate matter. every single american, no matter who you are, no matter where you come from. this shouldn t be about conservative, liberal, red or blue. it should be about it sounds corny. but a promise rooted and the sacred and secular. where all people created equal. and life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. are reflective and fair of the asetssment process. that is what we all want is a fair hearing at the board. i think we may progress of working down the cases in assessment appeals world. remember the investment made last year was for residential property so it wasn t for had more complex commercial properties, it was really to speed tup for the single family home squz the more simple taxpayer items. i think we have done a good job of working those cases down. i think where our office is the board clerk has been working is to say how is it that we can potentially speed it up even further? are there opportunities on the assessment appeals side to be able to schedule more hearing that allows us to get through them faster because wree at the mercy of the scheduling. we are in conversation how we can reconcile those cases and schedule more faster and think that continues to be a point. we need additional space to hear it and resources within your budget to hear the cases more quic
