A Heffley Creek woman is warning her neighbours after it appears someone shot her pet chihuahua late Sunday and left it for dead.
Sue Barley said she returned to her Lister Road home around 11:30 p.m. Her three-year-old dog was missing. She went looking for it Monday and found the small dog dead at the edge of her 10-acre property, with wounds that look like bullet holes.
Barley described the injuries as an entrance wound and an exit wound. She said it looks like the bullet went in behind the dog s shoulder and exited through its head.
